PREVIEW

La Marmotte is a challenging cyclosportif that travels through the most beautiful and well-known cycling areas of the French Alps. For anyone who is looking for an alternative (or additional challenge) to L’Etape du Tour, La Marmotte is the event!

With total elevation gain of over 5,000 meters, La Marmotte will test the limits of your cycling fitness.

AfterLA Marmotte, we’ll remain near Bourg d'Osians—centrally located to all cycling routes—for an additional week of training and hands-on coaching. This trip is not only a chance to experience France, but an opportunity to take your cycling to the next level. You’ll train on the same roads that the pros use to prepare for the Tour de France.

PRE-TOUR PROFESSIONAL COACHING

In order to prepare for the trip, you’ll receive a three-month professional coaching/training program, covering topics such as:

  • Workouts to improve climbing and endurance
  • Tips on descending, pacing strategies, and nutrition.
  • Information on choosing the right gear and equipment

AVERAGE DAILY MILEAGE AND TERRAIN

We will ride and train an average of 40 to 80 miles daily, over challenging mountain terrain and narrow roads. The routes are designed to offer shorter or longer options, and guests can choose structured training options each day. Professional coaching is included every day. Many afternoons are free for non-cycling activities such as exploring the local villages or simply relaxing. For those who want more riding, this cycling-friendly region has a variety of challenging roads to explore after the set day’s route.
